At Belize Blue Nutrients, our work begins near the pristine, protected waters of the Belize Barrier Reef—a UNESCO World Heritage site—where we have partnered with the Belize Fund to standardize the seaweed industry and lead a new era of community-driven innovation. We focus on the professional, sustainable, and consistent cultivation of Eucheuma cottonii to meet the "gold standard" of Quality, ensuring every batch is meticulously harvested and tested while fostering economic growth through the Community by providing the tools and training necessary to support Belizean farmers. Our operation goes far beyond delivering 100% pure, clinical-grade Belize Gold Sea Moss to the global health and wellness market. We are deeply committed to the sustainable development of Belize’s Blue Economy. To achieve this, we actively manage a multi-year Belize Fund Grant explicitly designed to provide economic stability for local grassroots farmers through managed mariculture.
By cultivating our sea moss miles offshore in the pristine, unpolluted currents in the protected Turneffe Atoll Marine Reserve and near the UNESCO-protected Belize Barrier Reef, our "Zero-Input" farming methods protect local biodiversity, enhance marine ecosystems, and strictly avoid all artificial inputs like fertilizers or pesticides.
Driven by Indigenous Scientific Leadership: Wilbur Dubon
Our environmental stewardship and farmer-training initiatives are completely engineered and led by my brilliant Co-Founder and President, Wilbur Dubon.
Wilbur is a true native visionary in the field of aquaculture who hails from the heart of Belize’s aquafarming community. He has dedicated his entire life to mariculture and boasts over a decade of passionate experience as an aquafarming educator, researcher, and advocate.
Scientific Expertise: Born and raised in Belize, Wilbur holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Aquaculture from National Taiwan Ocean University and a B.Sc. in Natural Resource Management from the University of Belize.
A Legacy of Mariculture Innovation: Wilbur has spent his life mastering and evolving these coastal ecosystems. Since 2015, he has worked and trained directly alongside "Jap" (Lowell Godfrey)—the legendary pioneer of Belizean seaweed farming—absorbing decades of foundational regional knowledge.
Global & Institutional Impact: Wilbur is the former Manager and Executive Director of the Placencia Producers Cooperative, where he spent over five years successfully guiding local communities away from traditional commercial fishing vulnerabilities and transitioning them into sustainable, high-yield aquafarming and Blue Economy development. His specialized expertise has also led him to collaborate with international entities, including the United Nations and The Nature Conservancy, to establish sustainable seaweed harvesting protocols, Best Management Practices, and national farmer certification frameworks.
Through our managed mariculture training programs, Wilbur works directly in the fields to equip Belizean farmers with pioneering skills and collaborative partnerships. By guaranteeing a fair, reliable market for their harvests, we aren't just protecting the Caribbean Sea—we are directly elevating local livelihoods and enhancing the quality of life for farming families across Belize.

Christina Kinder is a visionary angel investor with a profound commitment to education. With over three decades of astute business expertise and a deep dedication to philanthropy, Christina has harnessed her passion for the Belizean Community.
Her philanthropic journey in Belize began in 2018 when she embarked on a transformative partnership that evolved from a modest seaweed training program into an ambitious venture, where she is the co-founder, of The Institute of Belize, a non profit multistakeholder cooperative with the vision to foster resiliency and sustainability for all Belizians through training and education, research and development, certifications and a seaweed seed bank. Christina’s philanthropic acumen has been honed to drive the Institute’s expansion, encompassing K-12 and higher education programs through dynamic university partnerships.
As the Founder of Heva and Co-founder of the Institute of Belize, Christina is at the forefront of sustainable innovation. She steers the ship with precision, overseeing the company’s operations, managing a dedicated team of professionals and contractors, and spearheading the development and execution of strategic objectives.
