Key Sourcing & Farming Standards:
- Sustainable Mariculture: The seaweed—specifically the species Eucheuma cottonii / Kappaphycus alvarezii—is naturally grown and sustainably harvested. This preserves the biodiversity of the reef and the reserve ecosystem.
- High-Current Growth: Cultivation occurs miles offshore where deep-ocean currents provide maximum mineral infusion, contributing to the product's high ash and mineral content (including Potassium, Magnesium, Calcium, Iron, and Iodine, as well as 18 amino acids).
- Sun-Drying Protocol: Once harvested, the seaweed is cleaned with spring water and dried on raised USDA-approved beds using standardized airflow techniques and natural sun-drying. It is cured to a precise 18-20% moisture level to maintain shelf stability and mineral density.
- Processing: While the initial sustainable harvesting and sun-drying occurs in Belize in our FDA-registered facility (Independence Village and the Stann Creek District), the seaweed is exported under BAHA (Belize Agricultural Health Authority) certification to be milled and packaged in USA-based, SQF-certified facilities. We use HACCP protocols and USDA Standard Operating Procedures to ensure our premium product's quality.
- Purity: No fertilizers or pesticides are ever used in any of our processes—100% clean label.
- Testing: 3rd party testing is conducted in the USA within an ISO-accredited facility.
